POC VPD Air Knee and Elbow Pads – Full Review

You like your pads on the lightweight side? Don’t want too much bulk weighing you down or getting in the way? These VPD Air pads from POC might be exactly what you’re looking for. Both the knee and elbow pads share the similar, simple soft material construction, including POC’s Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough (VPD) material which absorbs the impact.

These will be perfectly suited to those of you that want a little protection knee-caps and elbows but without the bulk of large and heavy plastic capped protection. Because of the lightweight construction, they don’t compromise movements, flexibility or ventilation. This makes them great for longer rides in warmer weather, where bigger pads would be too restrictive or too warm.

Features –

  • Lightweight & Impact Absorbing VPD Compound
  • Reinforced Stretch Fabric
  • Elastic Strap
  • Neoprene Anti-Slip Inner
  • Design With Low-Profile

Both the knee and elbow pads have single velcro/elastic straps to help keep things secure but the main part at work here is the neoprene anti-slip areas. These are both top and bottom on each pad and do a great job of keeping things where they should be. I’ve been on all day rides over the moors with these pads and they’ve barely budged an inch.

Elbow Pads – £60.00

Knee Pads – £70.00

I’ve come across a wide variety of knee and elbow pads in my years riding push bikes. Heavy/light, hard/soft, and these are spot on. They don’t have huge coverage like some but what they lack in coverage they certainly make up for in comfort and weight. All in, a great set of pads and my go-to set for each ride.
