EVOC Bolivia Bag – First Look

EVOC have a rep for making some sweet riding packs and I’ve been looking at getting one for a while. At Eurobike I saw their special edition Bolivia bag and I liked it immediately.

Years before EVOC was even a glint in the milkman’s eye, friends (and future founders) Holger Feist, Bernd Stucke and Jan Sallawitz had been travelling around the world together. Weather it was cycling or snowboarding, they were always searching for the perfect line or the best powder. They always had the need for the rights packs that could endure cycling in the Himalayas, boarding in the Arctic or riding downhill in the jungle. While they were never short of the perfect trail, they did struggle to find the right bags to use on their trips. So what to do? Design and make your own obviously.

They started out just making bags for themselves and friends. This meant it was easy to respond to feedback, required changes were implemented quickly and the quality of the products constantly increased, with that so did demand. EVOC was born.

FR Supertrail Bolivia –

Just like their history says, EVOC are always in search of the perfect trail. They think they found it, in Bolivia. The limited edition bag riding pack pays homage to this trail in the La Paz region.

EVOC started to look into integrated back protectors after Holger Feist was shooting a boarding video in Austria. During shooting there was an avalanche accident, while this didn’t result in death, it did end with back injuries due to the avalanche shovel in his backpack.evoc-bolivia-firstlook-cl-4Features –

CB 16L Photo Bag –

As well as the Bolivia bag, I also have here one of EVOC’s camera insert bags. They are designed to fit inside EVOC’s riding packs and come in the following sizes – 3L, 6L, 12L and 16L. This 16L I have hear, is made for their larger packs and only just fits in the Bolivia.

The 16L has enough room for a large camera (in this case Canon 1D X) and range of lenses, including a large 100-400.

I’ll be using these both on and off the bike in the coming months, I’ll be back in touch later with a more in-depth review soon.
