Pearce Cycles Charity Weekend

The aim for this ‘season-ender’ event is to raise money for Jason Brennan and Air Ambulance.

Jason from Rave Racing has been a regular at our races for many years.
Unfortunately last year he suffered a broken back as a result of a crash at Caersws. We hope to help Jason purchase a Thera trainer which attaches to his wheelchair to help him exercise.

We’ve needed to call upon the services of the Air Ambulance in the past so will also be making a donation towards their operating costs.

Charity Downhill / Midland Champs

Saturday 20th October at Hopton.

The event is open to all riders. It will be the Midland Downhill Championships for riders who hold a British Cycling race licence from either the West Midland or East Midland regions.

Charity Gravity Enduro

Sunday 21 October at Hopton

This is our first attempt at an Enduro race, so we’re not trying to push the boundaries to far! What we hope to deliver is an friendly, relaxed event which will appeal to the masses.

Race Format
There will be two different stages, each one raced twice to give four timed stages. The stages are predominately downhill using sections of the ‘Red Route’ descents and downhill tracks. The ideal bike would be a 120-160mm trail bike, a full-on downhill bike will be a disadvantage. Don’t forget you’ve also got to ride to the top, there’s no uplift service!

Riders will set off individually at 30 sec intervals. We’ll publish start times for each rider, please ensure you arrive at the stage start in good time. There may be a penalty applied if late!

Entry Fee
Per rider £35.00

The usual age and ability categories, plus a Hardtail category. Riders will be seeded according to their ability within each category.

Race Numbers
We are trying to keep costs to a minimum, if you raced our downhill series this year we’ll assign you the same number – please bring it with you (make sure it is your 2012 numberboard!). If you haven’t raced with us before, you will collect a numberboard when you register on the day.

There is no requirement to wear a full face helmet, open face/XC helmets are fine.

For both events:
