In our second slice of Core we take a look at some stuff from NS Bikes, Smith, Nukeproof and Evoc.
NS Bikes had their new Trail/Enduro bikes on show which really stand out in their signature wild colours. The Snabb E1 and T1. The E1 is designed with Enduro in mind running 160mm at each end where as the T1 (Trail) runs a 150/140mm combo, both on 275’s. The E1 is equipped with the Rockshox Pike RC Fork and X-Fusion Strate dropper Seatpost with internal cable routing and 150mm of travel. The T1 has A 150mm RS Revelation RL fork and RS Monarch Debonair RT3 shock and X-Fusion Hilo Seatpost.
We couldn’t help but be drawn to the Fuzz 2 in Matt black and gold. About as bling as it gets.
Nukeproof had their new Nylon pedal, the electron Evo, equipped with a high quality DU bushing and two sealed cartridge bearings and available in some funky colours – Black, White, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green. £34.99.
We really liked the look of Smith Optics Forefront Helmet. With its EPS and Koroyd construction materials it is designed to spread the impact to your head in the case of a hit. Koroyd has a honeycomb appearance under the outer shell of the helmet absorbs energy over a wider spread and as a bonus means that ventilation is optimised as it allows air to flow through almost the entire structure of the helmet. £190.00
Evoc had some impressive kit on display ready for the 2015 season. The Protector Vest Air+ was noticeably lacking in bulk that most back protector equipped armours usually have. An armour that could easily be worn under jerseys without looking like the Michelin Man. Available in four sizes (S,M,L, XL) £139.95
If trail building is something you spend a lot of time doing (if you don’t you really should) then you should definitely consider rewarding yourself with an originally named Evoc Trail Builder. This is essentially a workshop for your back. It will hold pretty much everything you need to ride and dig for a day without looking overly bulky. You can fit an axe, hammer, hedge clipper and chain saw as well as your usual array of kit. It’s been cleverly designed to distribute the weight evenly to avoid discomfort. £199.95
It’s just a helmet bag but we really liked the neat design of the Evoc DH Helmet bag. A perfect protective wrap around your expensive lid. £39.95
Finally for Evoc, we were pleased to see they have a neck brace compatible backpack. The Stage has ‘Brace Links’ which mean that a neck brace can’t be interfered with by the straps of the bag. It also has an adjustable front strap which fits neatly under the front plate of a neck brace to hold it steady. £99.95
