The way it was still exists in our hearts and minds.

I would like to get back into riding, I have so many things though to ask the UK downhill community first, like what the f**k happened to 26" wheels and why is everyone riding xc bikes now, but I have nowehere to ask these life affirming questions.

What's the point in even building my bike back up if I can't post in Spangly New Kit...

26" wheels GONE.

XC bikes now descend like older DH bikes somehow, made a lot of tracks without uplift roads way more accessible, certainly around me. Also brought loads of middle managers into the sport who book onto uplift buses with trail bikes (or even e-bikes  ::)). Riding locally has become fantastic and I get out a lot more though.

You can still post in Spangly New Kit, just don't expect anyone to see it!

Holy f**king s**t. I don't know what made me think of this place again but it's great to see this thread. Can't believe I'm still a mod ;D As above snowboarding is about the only kind of 'extreme' I get these days. Haven't ridden a downhill bike in anger in years. Any of the 2005/2006 Morzine crew still around? Who's looking after the hosting of this site now? Is there still any sort of downhill scene in the UK? Everyone I used to ride with grew up and got trail bikes it seems. More interested in riding up them hills than down 'em. Bizzare.

To anyone reading this in the future, if we ever had the good fortune of meeting one another, I hope you're doing well. Downhill, Morzine, this place - Still the best years of my life :)

I use to lurk on here years ago.. Didn't really post very much.. I was just on Pinkbike a moment ago and I remembered this old site and came for a luck see..
Anyways I've had a trail bike over all these years but as I'm nearly 40 now and I have more disposable income. I convinced a couple of mates last autumn and we've all bought proper DH bikes again. I shelled out for a new alloy Canyon Sender (absolute bargain prices) and we've done a couple of uplift days at Revolution BP..
It's absolutely incredible, get yourselves to Revs and hire a DH bike for the day... Better still- time it so you go when there is a DH demo day like Canyon or Propain etc and you can throw a leg over one of the fancy bikes and ride a few runs ... I've got the bug back all over again!

See you on the hill
