62 plate Mercedes B-Class - Odd Run Flat Tyres
« on: Mar 05, 2013, 15:44 »
Just picked my car up from Kwik Fit after asking them to fix a slow puncture.

When i spoke to the guy in reception they said they had to change the tyre (company car so no cost to me)

However they've replace the damaged Goodyear run-flat with a new Pirelli run-flat, so now i have odd tyres on the rear axle.

Will this cause any problems?

24 it.

As long as the tyres have all the same sizing and the profile isnt different then it shouldnt be a problem.

How worn was the tire.

The diff will compensate but still good practice to change tires on the same axel together.

Id be more worried if it was front tires

Can't have been that worn, the car has only done 11,000 miles.

It's due in for service in a month so will see what the garage says

Its not ideal for sure, but it's not like they've fitted a different size, type or quality tyre across the same axle. Don't worry about it :)

If its the same size, and the same or greater speed rating & load index it will be fine.
