UKBP DH Races 2012/12
« on: Oct 23, 2012, 13:09 »
Racing is back at Ukbikepark for 2012/13 with 6 rounds of Downhill, 4 rounds of enduro/XC plus some night races. The races will attract not only BC points, but our own Ukbikepark points for every round (DH/XC/Enduro) leading to some exciting prizes at the end of all the series. We're also looking into having a Southern Champs Series at the top riding areas in the South to crown a overall Southern Champ (details to follow). DH race weekends will all feature two days of practice and racing, Saturday will be unofficial practice with the track marked out, Sunday will be practice and race. Camping is back on for the first round from Friday of the race weekend - see details below

In the newly improved cabin hot food is available all day from 8am to 9pm including breakfast baps, panini/chips/jacket potatoes, choc, tea/coffee selection of evening meals and of course Mums Cake! We also have our own mini bike shop stocking essential spares and body armour. Saturday & Sunday will have the scratch free mega fast uplift service for racers and normal uplifters, Ripper, female & Expert category's, PA & music system, TAG Timing & race start clock, trophies for the top 3 in every category, and fun filled evening! Dates and details of the UKBP XC & Enduro races plus how the points system works will be published shortly - prize fund will be announced as the series progresses.

Prices

Saturday unofficial race practice & uplift £25 all day - also available for non racing uplifters - starts 10am, lunch 1 - 1.30, finish 4.30pm (winter running times) half day and single runs only available on the day and subject to space.

Sunday Race day £30 including morning practice with uplift, number board, two timed runs and trophy for top three in all category's. Online entries close on Friday 9th Nov 2012

Please Note - Bar ends, Full face helmets, Gloves and a bike which complies with BC rules are needed to race at the park. From 2013 we will be ruling that all under 18's MUST wear body armour when racing and strongly recommend that all others riders do as well. There are tons of stone age knife's in the ground (Flint) which can cause nasty injury's - we see many avoidable accidents due to lack of protection - so please wear it!

Yes we're doing some timing practice this Sunday, this is mainly for the timing crew to have some practice  - will run from about 10 - 1pm, remember it's free for all those on the uplift but is NOT a race and the times/timing are not guaranteed

No times, sorry - timing didn't want to work at all today  :(  computer and long cable problems.

All the equipment is going for a refurb this week and we'll try again before the race.

I saw you riding and you looked pretty fast  ;)

Paul - Gary wouldn't be so polite  ;)

Sorry about the timing, but that was the whole point to test things out. Will be ok by race day though.

Also - Muc off will be supporting the coming DH race this 11th Nov. Every sign up will get a goodie's bag on the day, plus there'll be bringing up there truck and promotion stuff - hopefully they'll be a muc off bike wash as well! Better start saving the rain water from now!

Nope - tried that, spent ages studying, searching, etc, can't find a way to book and pay.  Looking for a button marked 'Book now' seems logical?  Can't see one.  Everything just brings me back to the same page (uplift, read more, etc).  Am I just being stupid/blind?  About to give up. >:(

I might know why its not working for you - have you registered yourself on the site yet? If you don't it will only give you info rather than the 'buy tickets' option. Log on by hitting the 'join us' button at the top of the site.

Let me know how you get on

Paul

OK fine now - thanks.  Maybe the site could mention that you can't book without registering somewhere?  Just for old codgers like me...

I managed to book onto the 11th Nov. race without registering.  Guess it must have been via the B.C. parasite website   ::)

Looking forward to it - hope for loadsa rain!
