na came up shorter than expected. Over shot it on HT but got away with it, then trying it on new full sus and went slower but differences blah blahblah and landed on the inside of the landing, nearly in the gully as turned too much for the speed i had

Cheers!

Hi,

Brutal injury but I take it you're healed up now? I dislocated my ankle and fractured my femur in June (see latest issue of MBUK) but I'm still having problems with my ankle/foot when walking as it feels like the whole top part is bruised/stretching. How long did it take for your ankle to feel normal again?

cheers

Hey Man,
Yeah all healed up again now...its sounds like your injury was quite different to mine...I didnt really have that sorta feeling, prob because it was all mashed up down there i couldnt pin point any feelings.... i was in cast for 5 weeks from the op, then in a boot, no walking for 3 weeks followed by 10% weight walking for 2 weeks, 30% for 2weeks,50%  2weeks, then 80& 2weeeks and 100% no crutches 2 weeks...
Its was very spread out so didnt feel too much pain etc just a little through my bones when i uped my weight...
I was also told i have loose tendons around my ankles(flexy and got alot of movement) which helped....

I was in a cast for 6 weeks post op then gradually built up weight bearing over the next couple of weeks. I think my ligaments and stuff probably shrunk after I stretched them in the crash which is why they hurt now but who knows. Just riding roads again now and have a little bmx play bike. No DH for me anymore though as my knee is too f**ked.
Hope everything stays good for you dude, it's a nasty injury to come back from
