Are you looking for Campsites or B&B?

Closes Campsite is The Old Rectory Caravan & Camping Park (www.tamarvalleycamping.co.uk) which is about 1 mile from Gawton DH. Or there is Woodovis Park (www.woodovis.com) which is about 3 miles from Gawton DH

Let me know if you're looking for B&B and I'll dig some out

Chris

A couple of B&B suggestions:

www.dartmoor-holidays.co.uk - Rubbytown Farm is right next to our Tavi Woodlands area and just over 4 miles from Gawton Downhill.

www.mounttavy.co.uk - Mount Tavy cottage is on the East (Dartmoor) side of Tavistock and just under 5 miles from Gawton Downhill

To be honest there are loads of B&B around Tavi, but I can recommend both of these (no idea how much they cost though!)

At Gawton Downhill our freeride track, HSD can be ridden using an XC bike with an XC helmet & no armour (I've done it many times). If you're feeling fit it is possible to ride up the up-lift track (done that too!).
At Tavi Woodlands the blue tracks can be ridden XC and then ride back up using the logging tracks.
There is also a huge amount of XC riding on Dartmoor to the east of Tavistock.

hope this helps

nick

Sorry Harry, should have added it.

www.dartmoorbb.co.uk - Hele Farm is right next to our Tavi Woodlands area and just over 4 miles from Gawton Downhill.

(do you want us to add a link from Woodland Riders web site?)

as for xc there are a load of new cycle paths all around the tamar valley that link up gawton and woodlands etc that make for some good xc riding, if your up for a day mish and dont mind touching the odd road can go up on to dartmoor drop down ride over and round the tamar valley a bit all in one ride. email me on the email in my profile if you want to get some of the routes i used to ride
