Looking forward to these races again, always good fun.
1 quick question, I turn 30 next aug 2013 so will be racing in masters from jan but as the first race is in dec does this mean I have to race the first one in seniours and then the rest in masters?
Cheers stu

The categories are based on British Cycling rules, so its how old you are at the end of the year,

so you will be Senior for December and then Master's next year.
cheers

Possibly not true Chris. The 2012 rulebook had an addendum made to it just before publication which states...

Quote
Points Allocation
British Cycling's Mountain Bike season runs from December to November. For the purposes of awarding ranking points, any rider taking part in a race between December the 1st and 31st will be placed in the correct category based on the following year minus the rider's date of birth.

So I'm not sure whether you race in the correct category as per the MTB regs 1.1.2 but your points are calculated on your following years category, or whether you actually race in the category above.

This was added to the rulebook after the December race last year (sadly done in a half arsed fashion which makes it as clear as mud).

You might want to ask Alex to clear it up before the event Chris. I wasn't asked by BC to comm for you this year (maybe 'cos I kicked up such a fuss over this after last December ;)), so don't ask me.
