why not ? – when your working with greasy stuff every day you want protection to stop your skin being damaged – dermititus is no laughing matter.

cycling gloves are alot like mechanix gloves tbh – alot of my mates who are mechanics ride in fresh mechanix gloves from work then use them in work when they stink from riding :D

i rarely do anything on a bike without vinyl gloves on – largely through habits as due to the chemicals i work with dermititus and burning is a real risk so before i pick up tools im used to putting on gloves.

Barrier cream helps to stop the oils getting absorbed by your skin.
I have found latex gloves or similar to be a pain in the ar*e when or king with oils and greases and yes I know they are an important part of your PPE!

I always wear nitrile gloves when working on forks/brakes, just riding gloves seem an odd choice, they’d absorb oil etc surely, and you can just wipe them clean like you can your hands/nitrile gloves

He applied grease to the seatpost without gloves, maybe it was to make sure the parts didnt get mucky for the photo shoot.
