Racing licence

Ok my British Cycling race licence expired at the end of the year as they do but my actual membership doesn't expire untill june.
Do I actually need to re-new my licence yet?
I'm not going to be racing the NPS untill the champs mid july, but I am racing the NPS 4X all year so can I just wait untill july and renew my membership and get a half price race license then?

you have to get membership when you get the licence even if you have current membership

You'll need a licence to do 4X.  If you renew your membership and licence, you won't lose your membership, it'll just extend a year from the expiry date.  Alternatively, renew your membership until the end of 2006, then your membership and licence will expire at the same time.

where do you get licenses? Didn't realise you needed oen to race!

If you are a member of a go ride cluband you have not held a licence in the last 2 years or have never held a licence you could get yourself a free bronze membership if over 16.

If you are under 16 you could get a free silver membership. SMART have about 100 to give away to members so let me know if you want any more info.

You dont allways need a licence to race and it depends which races you are doing and whether you want ranking points etc. It also gives you some good insurance cover.
