Saracen Ariel 2012 and coil shocks

New 2012 Ariel is looking gurt sexy however, if it doesn't take a coil shock like the older one, its not for me.
Anyone know if it does now?

I'm afraid the 16x will only take an air shock.

All air shoxs will fit including ones with a piggy back,although it may get a bit tight on the 15 inch frame.

Not to start disagreeing with a man very obviously in the know, but surely a piggyback could be squeezed in there?

Failing that what about a non-piggyback shock say an old Van R?

Or are madison just not keen on coil shocks getting fitted to this frame?

Not sure. I just think coil feels better for more sustained demanding riding, plus I've already got one to fit.
Maybe An air ccdb would be ok though. I hate to say it but, I also just prefer the look of a coil. Air shocks make the bike look a bit........... Xc jeyer.....  :-)

I'll have a chat with the designer and see if I can find out why they went for air over coil.

Just also to point out that Saracen, although an in-house Madison brand, sort out everything themselves, from design through to spec

Could maybe squeeze and old fox in there, the ones that used the narrow springs? But then, brand new frame with around a 9-10yr old shock...what's the point?!
